Message from the Founders

In 1996, driven by our desire to glorify God in all we do, God set it upon mine and Stacey's hearts to provide children in Huntsville and the surrounding community with a high level of academic excellence and spiritual guidance. Hampton Cove Christian Academy is the answer to that prayer.

In the days leading up to founding HCCA, Stacey and I spent time studying God's word concerning the value of a Christian education and the responsibility of Christian caregivers going into the new millennium. With Jesus as the cornerstone of our work and our faith, it is our desire to inspire and encourage parents and children alike, to excellence through Christ. God Bless each of you. T.J. and Stacey Lee

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment.... Philippians 1:9

HCCA's Quest for Excellence. Every school begins with a primary mission. As the school matures, that mission becomes more clearly defined as a long-term vision begins to take shape. At HCCA, our primary mission as Christian educators, administrators, and teachers called by God, is to build a school, firmly established on Christian values and principles with a commitment to academic excellence that faithfully serves our community and its families.

Our vision is to raise up stable, well-educated, self sufficient, young men and women whose lives are grounded in joy, abundance, and obedient service to others as the scriptures command. In Luke 2:52, the Bible says, "Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men." HCCA sees our students grow mentally wise, physically strong, loved among their brothers and sisters in Christ, and in spiritual favor with God.

HCCA's Commitment to God's Plan. Since HCCA offers a biblically based, high quality educational experience, we face significant challenges moving into the future. We must remain steadfast in our commitment to spiritual truth while striving to achieve academic excellence. In other words, we must be careful that our "Quest for Excellence" does not come from a desire to receive acclaim from the world, but should always honor God whose very name is excellent - Psalm 8:1.

.... that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ... Philippians 1:10

While our academic courses are Biblically integrative, it is the quality of education that is excellent, and not us. To avoid this trap, I believe it is incumbent upon each of us as Christian educators, caregivers, and spiritual leaders, to think deeply on the significance of both the academic preparation; and the spiritual, physical, and lifestyle preparation God provides.

Scripture addresses this matter quite explicitly in the Old Testament story of Daniel and his friends Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who lived in captivity among those who were hostile to God. "To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning... In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom." Daniel 1:17 & 20

God does not send unprepared people into His service; but instead, sends those who will rise to the occasion and truly make a difference in their world.

Standing in a High Place of Calling. Not much has changed in over twenty centuries for those of us standing in a place of high calling, serving as God's instruments. The challenges we face in preparing young people to live and serve in a world and culture that runs counter in every way to the likeness of Christ, are daunting; but we stand derelict to God's call if we do not put forth our best efforts in sharing both the spiritual vision and the academic mission. Firmly grounded in Christ, the only way to victory is having His Word ingrained in our hearts and minds. Individual responsibility, academic preparation, and God's grace, patience, and compassion are enough to succeed.

... being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:11

Stacey and I stand strong in the Lord and His vision for HCCA, fully committed to employing only the best teachers, administrators, and leaders. We will not compromise important decisions regarding methodology, curriculum, or textbook selection. We vow never to settle for just okay, fair, or acceptable from each other, or our staff. Like Daniel and his friends, we have God-given knowledge and understanding of how to keep the vision alive and the mission clear. With guidance, Hampton Cove Christian Academy will forever be our Quest for Excellence!
