HCCA preschool consists of three age groups:
- Beginners who are comprised of ages 2½ - 3 years
- Pre-K 3-year-olds
- Pre-K 4-year olds
Beginners classes for ages 2½ - 3 years. This is where your child "begins" the journey to learning and experiencing so many wonderful things! At the Beginners stage in your child's development, a great deal of parental participation, patience, and understanding is required. The Beginners class at HCCA is an exciting, fun, and transitional time that will pass far too quickly if you don't engage in this transformative period in your child's growth and development.

Children experience many "firsts" in the Beginners age group, so enjoy their journey to discovery without taking these experiences for granted. Beginners will learn about manners and table etiquette; they will learn how to follow simple instructions like "Bring me the book", or "Put on your shoes." They will also learn about their own personal hygiene like how and why they should wash their hands and brush their teeth. Teachers acclimate Beginners to classroom habits and routines like nap-time, recess, and lunch–period. Beginners take significant steps that not only instill in them positive habits that stay with them all their lives, but that will amaze you with the extent of what they have learned, once they get home.
Because acknowledgements of toilet training procedures begin to evolve during school time, HCCA devotes special care and understanding to this natural process. Reinforced with positive peer pressure and emphasized with gentle rewards for natural curiosity, it helps make potty training at home a snap!
When the time is right, HCCA teachers and staff pick up academic instruction using the A Beka method with greater frequency and consistency. In a matter of just a few short months, you will marvel at their progress as God continues to mature and bless your child.

Again utilizing the A Beka curriculum designed to prepare young children for elementary school, the age-appropriate "ABC-123" Series uses a comprehensive, hands-on approach to learning, presented in a colorful and exciting format that emphasizes phonics, letters, writing, numbers, colors, and simple arithmetic. These basics, combined with whole language development, listening skills, visual perception, and motor skills provide a basic, well-rounded academic foundation for future learning. HCCA promises personalized attention and individualized instruction, always combined with love and positive reinforcement. The Threes classes even include supervised weekly computer instruction used to supplement classroom instruction.

The Threes class goals include:
- Phonics - recognizing letters, reciting letter sounds, and recognizing his or her name
- Manuscript – writing their first and last name, and learning letter formations
- Poetry – exposure to 28 poems and finger plays
- Language – exposure to language development and listening skills that incorporate color words, shapes, animals, transportation, countries, community helpers, health, safety, manners, and science
- Numbers – number recognition, counting (1-100), and number concepts like ten toes, one nose, two eyes, etc.
- Bible - lessons include the Creation, Noah and the Ark, the boy Samuel, story of Daniel, and the boyhood of Jesus. The Threes also memorize 19 Bible verses, and learn to sing a Bible song
